MY STORY//
I have an unquenchable thirst for creative expression and a relentless desire to tell unforgettable stories. In the spring of 2018, I walked away from my beloved career as a middle school Drama teacher to pursue my greatest dream: becoming a filmmaker.

I've been working as a professional photographer and videographer for over a decade, and my camera even found its way into my classroom, when I founded and directed a film program for 8th graders focused on creating original narrative short films, adaptations, and music videos. Our program garnered the attention of a renowned film producer, who mentored me as I built the program, and encouraged me to apply to the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
In the spring of 2020, I graduated from UNCSA with my MFA in Filmmaking. During my time in the graduate program, I had the opportunity to learn from more masters of filmmaking who were, and still are, tremendously instrumental in helping me develop my craft as a director, screenwriter, and creative producer. Since graduating, my original feature film screenplays have advanced to the second rounds of the Sundance Development Lab and the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition (more information here).
Theatre was my first love! I graduated from East Carolina School of Theatre and Dance with my BFA in Professional Acting in 2011, and have appeared in several short films and commercial voiceover projects since. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to devote most of my life to the study of storytelling from a number of different perspectives and approaches.

My husband Josh is the man who keeps me grounded but has never once tried to hold me back. We have been married for almost 15 years! We have a little Corgi named Hobson, who drives us crazy but brings us insurmountable joy. I'm a left-handed INFJ and the most Four "4" I know (if you're into Enneagram personality types). In other words, I long to make a positive impact in the world around me through creative expression and authentic storytelling. I crave it so much I decided to make a career out of it!
